Creatively on the move in the city and hinterland.

Vrijstaat O. will be organizing the first edition of Expeditie Dansand! 4 – 6 July 2014), a low impact, open-air festival for art and movement in the landscape.

Within the framework of the ATELIER DE STAD (CITY STUDIO) project we launched a call for creative individuals to collaborate on Expedition Dansand!
The call expired on January 15, a jury now considers the proposals. Mid-February will be announced which excursions will be realized. The creations will form part of Expedition Dansand! (4-6 July 2014): a low impact, open-air festival for art and movement in the landscape.

The challenge?
To put together an excursion on the Groen Lint [Green Ribbon]  – a new 35 km green route in and around Ostend spanning an important mix of landscapes – in the form of an expedition, a collective adventure.
We looked for individual or group proposals from different fields, not only artistic disciplines but also, for example, the applied arts, architecture, landscape architecture, technology or design…
There was no set limit to the length of the excursion: this depends entirely upon the needs of the project and the type of landscape(s) in which it will take place.

More information about the call can be found here.
The masterplan of the Green Ribbon you can find here.

Expedition Dansand! is organised by Vrijstaat O. arts centre in collaboration with the City of Ostend, the Groen Lint and the cultural centre De Grote Post.
